Mark your gear

Get yourself an oil based paint pen to mark your gear. If your gear is clearly marked, you’ll be able to spot it immediately with no confusion. This is even more important with magazines. Labeling your magazines will allow you to troubleshoot more effectively. Mark each mag with your initials and a unique code or number on the body and baseplate. Add acquisition date. This will come in handy so that you can:

• Quickly identify your stuff to avoid mix-ups at training classes, on public ranges or matches.

• Track your magazine inventory and put them into a rotation.

• Track performance so you can easily identify and isolate malfunctioning magazines.

• Track life and reliability of your magazines for maintenance, like replacing springs or followers.
